Vicki Breazeale, (aka Dr. Bug) Ph.D. Science Educator is an Adventure Leader with extensive experience in formal and free-choice science curriculum design, implementation and evaluation. She has taught biology and ecology in diverse settings to people of all ages for nearly three decades. Vicki's work includes creation of curricula on the natural history and ecology of San Francisco Bay for the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and nature field trips for the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley. Vicki has a comprehensive knowledge of biology, as well as a detailed understanding of cognitive development and learning. She has a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Soraya Delgado, Conservation Ecologist, Environmental Educator and Executive Director of Great Wilderness is an Adventure Leader and a native of the coastal region of Ecuador. She has worked on conservation projects in diverse regions of Ecuador and Venezuela including the Llanos, the Galapagos Islands, the High Andes, Pacific rainforests and the Amazonian region. She has led educational tours for people of all ages and cultures. Soraya is highly respected for the community outreach projects that she created while working at Fundacion Jatun Sacha in Ecuador. Karl Berg has worked in the research and conservation of tropical birds in
South America for over 17 years, with a special focus on Ecuador and Venezuela. During a ten year residency in Ecuador he conducted the first bird inventories of 8 newly created forest reserves in western Ecuador. Also during this time he conducted focal studies of endemic species of toucans, parrots and macaws. He received his Master's in Biology from Florida International University in Miami, where his thesis addressed the evolutionary and ecological factors affecting acoustic signaling in tropical forest bird communities of lowland western Ecuador. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where his dissertation project involves the function and ecology of vocal learning in wild parrot populations in the Llanos of Venezuela.
